Chaplain of Jean de Bohême , he rambles with him through Europe. These travels inspire him
with narratives. Historically low valuable, they are living pictures of plague, of the hundred
years'war, of corruption in society and Church.
In his last years, he is canon in Reims cathedral.He describes himself as an accomplished lover.
He uses in his writings the allegorical figures of Nature and Love.
His Musical work extends the tradition of trouveres and links sacred and profane music.
It makes him one of the first polyphonists.
