How Internet works, a simplified diagram :

The user types the address www.kc3a.com ; the request is sent by the server 1 (internet service provider) to server 2 (shelterer of the site) via the gateways (system ensuring the conversion of a data-processing environment towards another) and the backbone (connection with very high flow forming a principal axis of connection); server 2 returns the index page via the opposite way.
